How to Follow Up on a Contractor Quote
A straightforward follow-up email and checklist for contractors after sending an estimate.
Check the estimate before you write
Open the estimate and confirm the job, recipient, scope and sent date. Use the timeline you agreed on. If you did not discuss timing, a short check-in after a few business days gives the customer room to review.
A reply you can adapt
Hi [Name], I’m checking in on the estimate I sent for [project]. Would you like me to walk you through the scope or answer any questions? If your plans or timing have changed, just let me know. Thanks, [Name]
Track the next step
Record the sent date and any date the customer requests. Check that any AI-assisted draft reflects the estimate. Use your own judgment on when to close the loop.
